Chapter, Colony & Alumni Chapter Delegate Information
Delta Chi Law requires that each chapter, colony, and alumni chapter must have representation at the Convention. This section of the website will be the clearing house for all information that delegates would need during the general legislative sessions. If there are any questions, please contact the Convention Coordinator .
Schedule of events
- As you and your brothers are planning to attend the Convention, please keep in mind the schedule of events and when you should arrive on Wednesday and when things will be wrapped up on Sunday. For full details on the schedule, click here.
Hotel reservation
- Once your delegation is registered for Convention, please make sure to book your hotel rooms at the discounted convention rate. Delta Chi has a minimum number of rooms it must fill, so delegates are expected to stay at the hotel. For full details on the hotel, click here.
Travel reimbursement
- The process of calculating and collecting travel reimbursement is explained here. Travel reimbursement assistance is only available to student chapters and colonies. Please note that there are specific roll call requirements for travel reimbursement and to be considered in attendance for legislative sessions. For details, check out the travel reimbursement page.
International Officer Elections
- Any alumnus wishing to run for "AA", "CC" or "DD" needs to review the information and requirements from Delta Chi Law and fill out an application. All of this information can be found here.
Voting eligibility and calculating your number of votes
- To determine if your chapter, colony, or alumni chapter is in good standing to vote at Convention, all you have to do is refer to Delta Chi Law:
Delta Chi Constitution, Section II, Item 4. Voting:
(1) DISTRIBUTION--Each chapter and colony and the Past “AA” committee shall cast the number of votes provided in Delta Chi Law.
(2) LOSS OF VOTE IN CONVENTION--A chapter shall have no vote at a Convention, if, at the time of the convening of such Convention:
- The chapter’s charter is revoked or suspended;
- The chapter is under Risk Management sanction of Level III Corrective Action or above as defined by Delta Chi Law;
- The chapter is not in financial Good Standing as defined by Delta Chi Law. Financial good standing is defined as owing the Fraternity $150 or less, 30 days or more past due (including delinquencies to the Housing Fund by the chapter or its house corporation on behalf of the chapter) at the convening of Convention.
- The chapter is under probation as defined in Article VII, Section 5, Subsection 7(b) of the By-Laws of The Delta Chi Fraternity.

- Each chapter shall have a "BB" and an Alumni Board of Trustees.
- Each undergraduate chapter shall be in registered attendance at each Convention and regional conference.

Any undergraduate chapter that fails to send an accredited delegation to the Convention shall be fined five hundred dollars ($500). This fine may be waived or reduced by a majority vote of the Board.
- To figure the number of votes your chapter, colony, or alumni chapter in good standing with the Fraternity would have at Convention, all you have to do is refer to Delta Chi Law:
Delta Chi By-Laws, Section II, Item 6. Voting:
(1) UNDERGRADUATE CHAPTERS--Each undergraduate chapter shall cast a number of votes based on its membership, defined as the number initiated and dues-paying members including those initiates who are not yet required to pay dues, as follows: if its membership is less than the average chapter membership, three (3) votes; if its membership is equal to or greater than the average chapter membership, four (4) votes; if its membership is equal to or greater than twice the average chapter membership less ten (10), five (5) votes.
(2) UNDERGRADUATE COLONIES--Each undergraduate colony will cast a number of votes based on its membership, defined as the number of members and associate members as follows: if its membership is less than the average chapter membership, one (1) vote; if its membership is equal to or greater than the average chapter membership, two (2) votes; if its membership is equal to or greater than twice the average chapter membership less ten (10), three (3) votes.
