The desert oasis of Las Vegas, Nevada will host to the Delta Chi 56th International Convention in 2008!

Las Vegas, an ever-changing fantasy-land of a city, has seen unbelievable expansion since it emerged from the desert 100 years ago.

Thirty-eight and a half million visitors enjoy the sights and sounds of Las Vegas every year. They stay in some of the most glamorous, unique hotels in the world. They eat at five-star restaurants and expansive buffets. They play at casinos, pools, health spas and golf courses.

You will be dazzled by Vegas, but the sheer number of things to see and do can seem overwhelming. That is why we suggest that those wishing to make the Convention a full vacation to come out a day or two early, or stay behind afterwards. A little advance planning will help you to enjoy your Vegas Convention trip. Visit the sites below for basic visitor information and an overview of this special destination.

The Convention hotel is currently being negotiated, but rest assured we will get the best hotel for our needs, which provides upscale accommodations and access to the Las Vegas strip. Everything in Las Vegas is connected via trams, buses, trolleys and cabs or is an easy walk from location to location.

It cannot be emphasized enough that Convention attendees need to stay at the official Convention hotel. One of the best parts of the Convention experience is effectively duplicating the experience of a Delta Chi chapter house in Las Vegas (within reason, of course). To state it simply, stay with your brothers and have a better time while not running the risk of costing Delta Chi thousands in missed room block pick-up.

Now for those of you know that know anything about Las Vegas, you'll understand that we could not even begin to link all of the sights and attractions of one of the most entertaining cities in the world. We will continue to add new links as they are found, but for now here are just a few links to give you ideas as you plan your trip with your brothers, friends, and family!

Las Vegas is easy to get to by air. It is accessible by air. Las Vegas' McCarren International Airport (LAS) is serviced by 42 different air carriers and more than 1,100 daily flights operate in and out of McCarren. Once there, getting around Vegas is a snap.

With all this destination city has to offer, it is our hope that the 2008 Convention will be the biggest and best ever, breaking the record we set in Cleveland in 2006.
